The Ordination and Consecration – A joyous event!
The Ordination and Consecration of Sally French as the XIII Bishop of the Diocese of New Jersey is a joyous event! It will be held on Saturday, June 24 at Trinity Cathedral, 801 West State Street in Trenton, NJ, 08618. https://www.trinitycathedralnj.org/
The Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church, will be the chief consecrator. Other Episcopal bishops from across the church will serve as co-consecrators. The Rt. Rev. Sally J. French will preside at the Eucharist. Bishop Kevin Robertson of the Anglican Diocese of Toronto will preach at the service. Joining the Ordination and Consecration will be ecumenical representatives from various faith communities.

REGISTRATION IS IMPORTANT
All are welcome! There will be reserved seating in the nave, chapel, and a tent outside of Trinity Cathedral for clergy and congregational representatives. If necessary, overflow areas might be established. Since there will be seating available for those who want to be present that day, it is important to register.
Registrations can be made for individual clergy and laity, as well as congregational representatives. Register here.
There is assigned seating and you will be directed to your area upon entrance to the cathedral.
Deadline for registration is June 5, 2023. Please observe this deadline so we can accommodate as many people who wish to attend.

SPECIAL CHOIR
A special Diocesan Choir to sing for the Ordination and Consecration is being organized. Due to limited seating, we can only accommodate approximately 50 singers, with about 12 or 13 singers per part (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass).

PARKING
Parking at Trinity Cathedral will be reserved for those with disabilities or other issues that require on-site parking.
On-street parking in the area around Trinity Cathedral is limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged. Additional parking with shuttle van service has been secured at the following locations:
The Arthur Holland School parking lot on the corner of 1001 West State St. and Parkside Ave. Follow Parkside Ave. to the rear of the school and enter the gated parking lot. Wait for the shuttle van.
State Parking Lot 3 across from the Hughes Justice Complex, 25 Market Street. While on Rte. 29 S or Rte. 29 N., take the Market St. exit. At the first light, make a left; Parking Lot 3 is on the left. Wait for the shuttle van. Shuttles will run from 8:30am to 10:30am and again from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear what you would normally wear to a service at your church. Clergy who want to vest and process should wear cassock, surplice, and a white stole. Additional cassocks and surplices will be available for clergy as needed. Bishops who aren’t co-consecrators should wear rochet, chimere, and tippet. Co-consecrating bishops should wear a cope and mitre.
RECEPTION
A reception will follow the Ordination and Consecration on the grounds of Trinity Cathedral and in Synod Hall. In order to accommodate all who will be attending, it is important to RSVP for the reception.
DONATIONS
It is customary for the people of the diocese welcoming a new bishop to join in giving the new bishop various signs of the episcopal office and vestments that will use in ministry. KEY POINTS
Childcare will not be available.
Masking is optional.
Trinity Cathedral will open at 7:00 am for those who wish to take photos in the majestic setting.
The service will be available live and later on the website. Individual filming will not be tolerated for logistic reasons (including blocking the view of others).
